•  Limitations Decree

a) reception and material transmission to the Italian Embassy in Lisbon of civil status documents received from local authorities, Italian citizens or masters of national or foreign ships or aircraft;  

(b) reception and material transmission to the Italian Embassy in Lisbon of declarations concerning marital status by masters of ships and aircraft, or witnesses

c) reception and material transmission to the Embassy of Italy in Lisbon of wills made on board ships and aircraft by Italian nationals

d) receipt and material transmission to the Italian Embassy in Lisbon of deeds dependent on the opening of the succession of Italian citizens or to which Italian citizens may be called;  

e) issuance of protective acts, not involving the disposition of the property of Italian citizens, in matters of succession, shipwreck or air accident, with the obligation to inform the Italian Embassy in Lisbon in a timely manner

f) urgent activities of initial investigation in the event of maritime or air accidents or accidents on board domestic ships, pleasure craft or aircraft, after having first consulted the Italian Embassy in Lisbon on a case-by-case basis

g) reception and transmission to the Italian Embassy in Lisbon of applications for registration in the registry and electoral rolls in Italy submitted by citizens residing in the territorial district of the Honorary Consular Office

h) receiving and materially transmitting to the Italian Embassy in Lisbon, which is competent for any decision on the matter, acts relating to pensions;  

i) administrative authentication of signatures, in cases where it is provided for by law;  

j) delivery of certificates, issued by the Italian Embassy in Lisbon;  

k) certification of living for pension purposes;  

l) endorsements and legalisations; 

m) authentication of signatures on private deeds, drafting of affidavits and issue of special powers of attorney concerning natural persons to Italian citizens, in the cases provided for by law

n) reception and material transmission to the Embassy of Italy in Lisbon of documents relating to the issuance of passports of citizens residing in the territorial jurisdiction of the Honorary Consular Office; direct delivery to the holders of passports issued by the Embassy of Italy in Lisbon and return to the Embassy of Italy in Lisbon of the receipts of delivery

o) capture of biometric data of compatriots requesting an electronic document, for subsequent forwarding to the Italian Embassy in Lisbon;  

p) receipt and transmission to the Embassy of Italy in Lisbon of documentation concerning applications for the issue of Emergency Travel Documents - ETDs - submitted by Italian citizens and citizens of EU Member States, after acquiring the report of the theft or loss of the passport or other travel document and after carrying out the appropriate checks, provided for in Article 71 of Presidential Decree no. 445 of 28 December 2000, on the truthfulness of the declarations in lieu of the declarations referred to in Articles 46 and 47 of the aforementioned Presidential Decree; delivery of ETDs, issued by the Embassy of Italy in Lisbon , valid for one stay in Italy. 445 of 28 December 2000, on the truthfulness of the substitutive declarations referred to in Articles 46 and 47 of the aforementioned Presidential Decree; delivery of the ETDs, issued by the Italian Embassy in Lisbon, valid for a single journey to the Member State of which the applicant is a national, to the country of permanent residence or, exceptionally, to another destination

 445 of 28 December 2000, on the truthfulness of the substitutive declarations referred to in Articles 46 and 47 of the aforementioned Presidential Decree; direct delivery to the holders of the identity cards issued by the Embassy of Italy in Lisbon and material return to the Embassy of Italy in Lisbon of the cards signed by the latter

r) reception and transmission to the Italian Embassy in Lisbon of documentation relating to entry visa applications

s) assistance to compatriots in need or in temporary difficulty and performance of preliminary activities for the purpose of granting subsidies or loans with a promise of repayment to the Treasury by the Embassy of Italy in Lisbon; 

t) performance of collateral tasks, without prejudice to the powers of the Italian Embassy in Lisbon, relating to the formation and updating of conscription lists, as well as the investigation of practices for the regularisation of the conscription position of draft dodgers, for the purposes of the administrative deletion of the note of renunciation from the general list of draft dodgers. The powers of conscription remain excluded;

u) carrying out the operations required by the legislation in force in connection with the arrival and departure of a national ship, as well as keeping the relevant records;  

v) reception and transmission to the Embassy of Italy in Lisbon of the documents relating to the requests for issue, renewal or validation of the ship's or seafarer's safety certificates (endorsement); delivery of the said certificates, issued by the Embassy of Italy in Lisbon

w) service of documents on Italian citizens residing in the district of the Honorary Office, notifying the competent Italian authority and, for information, the Italian Embassy in Lisbon;  

x) collaboration in the updating by the Italian Embassy in Lisbon of the file of resident compatriots; 

y) maintenance of the signature file of local authorities.
