How to apply for a Carta d'identità Italiana
The Italian electronic identity card - CIE - is an identity document that has replaced the paper identity card in the Italian Republic.
Together with the National Services Card and SPID, it constitutes the authentication tool provided for by the Digital Administration Code for access to web services provided by the Italian Public Administration.
The Electronic Identity Card is issued only to Italian citizens registered in AIRE and in possession of the codice fiscale, the Italian tax code.
As regards to the codice fiscale, the tax code, it is an essential document for obtaining the identity card. If you are not in possession of one, our TRAMITE ITALIA's office can also take care of obtaining the Italian tax code.
The electronic identity card application is a procedure that can be requested at talian consulates in Europe.
Our office takes care of requesting the electronic identity card at the various European consulates.
